Les Mirandes
Gîtes & more
The Les Mirandes estate is located in southern Charente, on the border with Dordogne and not far from Gironde. The region is known as the “Tuscany” of France because of its many rolling valleys. It lies in the middle of a triangle formed by Cognac, Bordeaux and Périgueux, making it an excellent base for foodies and wine lovers.
Les Mirandes is a former inn on a pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela and has traditionally been a place of ultimate hospitality. It is located within walking distance just outside the village of Montmoreau, nestled on top of a hill from which you have a beautiful view of the valley below.
At the centre of the approximately 7-hectare estate is a complex of buildings with an elegant, very cosy 19th-century country house or “manoir”, with adjoining charming gîtes, each with their own terrace, where you can count on all the necessary comfort and privacy, as well as a large patio, a studio, a swimming pool and garden. The whole is surrounded by a landscaped garden, a vineyard, an orchard, a petanque court, meadows and a piece of unspoilt forest.
Foodies and culture lovers will certainly enjoy the rich offering of culture, history and culinary delights in the surrounding villages. In addition, the sophisticated city of Bordeaux, picturesque Brantôme (the Venice of the Périgord) and Royan Atlantique (the region's premier seaside resort) also have a great deal of beauty and fun to offer. Sports enthusiasts can choose from a wide range of activities in the region, such as hiking, cycling, canoeing, golf, etc.
In short, it is an ideal place for a longer stay to discover the area, enjoy good food, have fun, relax, enjoy yourself and have an unforgettable holiday.
We look forward to welcoming you! See you soon!
